We're in the Home Stretch
September 24, 2026
A Message from Leanne
Friends,

After five months, over 10,000 doors, and a full schedule of community events, we are finally in the home stretch!
The next 32 days will fly by fast. Each day is crucial to our election success because so many residents are just now becoming aware of the election.
It also means the rise of misinformation, sign damage, and grievance politics. It is important to me, and to the campaign team as a whole, that our campaign will stay focused and rise above it with our strong platform and vision of a city we can be proud of. A healthy democracy includes room for all perspectives that are grounded in truth.
You can help! See below for some suggestions on how you can support our positive campaign energy.
Leanne Caron
Candidate for Mayor
Help Keep This Election Positive and Informed
Write a letter to the editor.
If an issue matters to you, share your perspective with local media. GuelphToday accepts letters to the editor. Keep it personal, respectful, and grounded in the facts and experiences that inform your view.
Correct misinformation with credible sources.
There's a lot of misinformation flying around these days. If you see or hear someone misrepresenting facts or candidates’ positions, consider responding calmly with accurate information and reliable sources. Leanne has made an effort to correct the record on several issues on our FAQ page. Share those answers when relevant, and correct the claim without attacking the person.
Talk to your neighbours and friends.
This election matters. The Council elected on October 26 will shape Guelph for years to come. Talk about the issues that matter to you, encourage others to learn about the candidates, and remind them to make a plan to vote.
