Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Leanne's Campaign for Mayor! Volunteers are the heart of every successful campaign, and there are many ways to get involved.
Volunteer Positions
The following are descriptions of the volunteer positions available. Review descriptions and then indicate in the form below:
- Door-to-Door Canvasser - Speak with residents at their homes, share campaign information, listen to concerns, and help build support for the campaign.
- Literature Delivery Volunteer - Deliver campaign flyers and information door-to-door without engaging in voter conversations.
- Phone Outreach Volunteer - Call residents, identify supporters, provide campaign information, and assist with voter outreach efforts.
- Neighbourhood Team Lead - Coordinate volunteers within a neighbourhood or geographic area and help support canvassing in that area
- Volunteer Recruitment Ambassador - Help recruit new volunteers through outreach, community networks, and campaign events.
- Training coordinator - Deliver orientation and training for new volunteers, keep track of volunteer engagement through the onboarding and training checklist. Make sure all leaders can consistently onboard and train new volunteers.
- Accessibility Support Volunteer - Help ensure campaign events and activities are welcoming and accessible to all participants. Keep track of volunteers’ accessibility needs and ensure these are met throughout the campaign for them.
Community Outreach Planning Volunteer - Assist with planning and running outreach activities such as coffee chats, Meet ‘n’ Greets in the park, and Meet Leanne events at different community locations (e.g., libraries, the university, retirement homes, neighbourhood groups), campaign office pop-ups, and online town halls.
Assistant to Candidate at Events - Talk to supporters and get their contact details while Leanne connects and chats with people, help Leanne leave on time to stay on schedule, takes photos and video of candidate, take care of candidate’s health (e.g. getting a drink for them) and wellbeing (making sure they can take a break when needed) at events
Community Event Representative - Represent the campaign at community events, festivals, neighbourhood gatherings, and public meetings.
Event Volunteer - Help set up, greet attendees, manage registration tables, distribute materials, and assist with campaign events.
Event Mobilizer - Co-ordinate and execute outreach plans to bring target audience out to events.
Sign Installation Team - Install, maintain, and remove lawn signs and campaign signs throughout the city.
Sign Distribution Coordinator - Coordinate requests for lawn signs and help ensure signs are delivered efficiently.
Data Entry Volunteer - Assist with entering voter information, volunteer records, event registrations, and campaign data.
Technology and IT Support Volunteer - Assist with computers, databases, communication platforms, troubleshooting, and campaign technology.
Research and Policy Volunteer - Assist with background research, issue analysis, and preparation of briefing materials.
Fundraising Volunteer - Assist with fundraising events, donor outreach, sponsorship activities, and fundraising logistics.
Social Media Volunteer - Help create content, monitor engagement, share campaign updates, and support online communications.
Graphic Design Volunteer - Assist with posters, flyers, social media graphics, presentations, and other campaign materials.
Photography and Videography Volunteer - Capture photos and videos at campaign events and activities for promotional and archival purposes.
Administrative Support Volunteer - Provide office support, scheduling assistance, filing, communications support, and general administrative help.
Driver and Transportation Volunteer - Assist with transporting campaign materials, volunteers, signs, or providing transportation support when needed.
Election Day Volunteer - Support get-out-the-vote efforts, polling location activities, voter assistance, campaign logistics, and election day operations.
Scrutineer (Election Day) - Observe voting procedures and vote counting processes as permitted under municipal election regulations.
