Leanne Caron for Mayor: Guelph is Getting Engaged

 A Message from Leanne

Friends,

Adult with shoulder-length brown hair wearing light blue blazer and dark blue top, smiling against stone wall.

The kids are back in school, our streets are busier, grocery store lines are longer! As we move into the next phase of our campaign, we are also seeing a sudden escalation of sign requests, questions, emails, and interest at the door. For me, this is great news – it means residents are becoming engaged and looking to our team for hope, leadership, and inspiration. We will deliver!

One reality remains constant – delivering a ground campaign requires resources, both human and financial. As we get closer to E-day on October 26, please consider a donation, volunteering, and/or taking a lawn sign.

Volunteer Spotlight: Erin Nelson

This campaign is people-powered. Each week, we’re passing the mic to one of our volunteers to share what inspired them to get involved and what they love about the role they’re playing. This week, we're passing the mic to Erin Nelson!

What inspires you about Leanne’s campaign?

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the big problems in the world today, and Leanne’s campaign gives me a real feeling of hope and optimism for the future. She doesn’t pretend there are easy fixes, but she has smart, creative ideas about how municipal government can make a difference, and she has the experience to put her ideas into action. I especially love that she shows leaders can be compassionate, empathetic, and really listen, while also being strong. As the mother of a young daughter, I think she would be an amazing role model as mayor of Guelph!

What do you love about the volunteer role you are playing?

I love getting to be at the Farmers’ Market every week representing Leanne’s campaign! It is so much fun talking to people and listening to their questions and ideas about local issues. I’ve also learned so many interesting things about how the city works by listening to Leanne engage with people when she’s at the booth. And I’ve really enjoyed connecting with all the amazing people who are part of the market volunteer team. It’s been great having my daughter join and learn about local government, plus there are always so many good snacks!

Show Your Support with a Lawn Sign

Putting up a lawn sign is one of the most visible ways you can show your support for Leanne's campaign for a city we can be proud of.

Signs are also one of our biggest expenses. If you’re able, please consider making a $20 donation to help us cover the cost of signs. Every contribution helps us grow our campaign across Guelph.
